Out of everyone in the club, Lumberjack is probably the most impressive. For one thing, he never seems to be affected by anything other than his own desire to make us feel better about ourselves (this is when he lets us score or keep the ball). He’s remarkably good at mallet control, at offering up beers to the club, and in lending a critical but helpful hear to anyone who needs to speak up or seek advice.
Yes, I’d say Lumberjack is one of the best of us.
So it’s not without great joy that I offer up my Happy Birthday to him. At the age he’s at (I dare not actually ask what age that is, less I reveal that he was a chess partner with John Adams), it’s quite an accomplishment to be one of the most powerful players in our club.
I don’t want to get too mushy, but the dude means a lot to me. If you see him on the courts, give him a happy birthday wheeldick.
